How to reach it :
Just take the road leading to Auch, as it is one of the most beautiful ones in the Gers, with plenty of hills and valleys with the Pyrenees in the horizon.
You will start your trip in Beaumarché, with its huge church, and will then continue to the Bassoues village, known for its wooden covered market, its dungeon, and its St Fris basilica.
Then Isle de Noé has an interesting castle, and Barran’s octagonal church is beautiful. We then arrive in Auch, the Gers’s capital city. You need at least half a day to visit it, and discover the St Marie cathedral, the high and low cities, and the huge stair in between them, the famous pousterles places or the Musée des Amériques.
On your way back :
Head for St Michel, to visit the Patte d’oie farm, where ducks are raised with agroforestry methods. You will find a beautiful and well organised shop, and canned goods to bring back home.
On the way back to the Relais du Bastidou, stop by Tillac, a charming village in which some scenes from d’Artagnan where shot.
Finally, you will arrive in Marciac, a typical 1000 people village whose Jazz Fest is known as the biggest one in Europe since more than 40 years.
